The eighth annual Farm to Table fundraiser dinner will be host at Terhune Orchards and they are delighted to once again to have the event at the farm on Thursday, July 18 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Mercer Green Fest.
For the sixth year, Terhune Orchards will collaborate with chefs from the Terra Momo Restaurant Group. The well-known Princeton area restauranteurs are committed to raising awareness for sustainability in the region. “At the core of our culinary philosophy is a deep appreciation for a “taste of place”. All to say, we believe that food should speak eloquently of its provenance – its soil, its climate and the people who nurture it.”
Chefs representing their restaurants Eno Terra, Mediterra, Teresa Caffe, Terra Momo Bread Co. and Albarino will prepared an exquisite five course, seasonal menu highlighting fruits and vegetables grown at Terhune Orchards and other locally produced ingredients. Each course will be paired with wines from Terhune Orchards Vineyards and Winery.
Dinner will begin at 6:30 pm. Each course will be introduced by a chef. Chefs Terry Strong (Mediterra) and Emily Kirstein (Mediterra), Toni Charmello (Teresa Caffe), Jason Hensle (Eno Terra), Charmaine McFarlane (Terra Momo Pastry Chef), Master Baker Denis Granarcio (Terra Momo Bread Company) will speak to the guests about the dishes and their inspiration. The wine pairings will be introduced by Gary Mount, owner and winemaker of Terhune Orchards.
“Terhune Orchards is a very sustainable farm. We have worked for many years with town governments in Mercer County and throughout New Jersey on promoting a more sustainable future for our state,” said Pam Mount. “locally grown food continues to be a critical piece enabling that goal. Every year the chef’s creativity at this dinner show us how good food creates a lasting community.”
Throughout the evening Ocean Country Band, a Jersey Shore-based quartet will be playing a mix of country blue-grass, and rock cover songs. At the End of the night each guest will go home with a bag brimming with produce grown at Terhune Orchards and a commemorative recipe booklet at includes the menu items for this evening’s special dinner.
