Terhune Orchards is thrilled to once again host the sixth annual Farm to Table fundraiser dinner on the farm from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday July 20. Attendees always experience an evening under the stars enjoying locally grown produce showcased by talented area chefs. The dinner is a benefit for the Green Teams and Organizations of the Mercer County Sustainability Coalition.

For the fourth year, Terhune Orchards will collaborate with chefs from The Terra Momo Restaurant Group. The well-known Princeton area restaurateurs are committed to raising awareness for sustainability in the region. “At the core of our culinary philosophy is a deep appreciation for a “taste of place”. All to say, we believe that food should speak eloquently of its provenance — its soil, its climate and the people who nurture it.”

Chefs representing the Terra Momo restaurants Eno Terra of Kingston, Mediterra of Princeton, and soon to open, Albariño in Shrewsbury, will prepare an exquisite five course, seasonal menu highlighting fruits and vegetables grown at Terhune Orchards and other locally produced ingredients. Each course will be paired with wines from Terhune Orchards Vineyard and Winery.

Cocktails and passed appetizers will be served at 5 p.m. Terhune Orchards’ unique peach slushy made with fruit and wine from the farm is always a crowd pleaser. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Each course will be introduced by a chef. Terry Strong (Mediterra), Emily Kirstein (Mediterra), Tito Campos (Mediterra), Marco Santana (Eno Terra), Joe Voller (Eno Terra) , and Manny Perez (Albariño) will speak to the guests about the dishes and their inspiration. The wine pairings will be introduced by Gary Mount, owner and winemaker of Terhune Orchards.

“Terhune Orchards is a very sustainable farm. We have worked for many years with town governments in Mercer County and throughout New Jersey on promoting a more sustainable future for our state”, said Pam Mount. “Locally grown food continues to be a critical piece enabling that goal. Every year the chefs’ creativity at this dinner shows us how good food creates lasting community. “

Throughout the evening, Ocean Country Band, a Jersey Shore-based quartet will play a mix of country, bluegrass, and rock cover songs. At the end of the night each guest will go
home with a bag brimming with produce grown at Terhune Orchards and a commemorative recipe booklet that includes the menu items for this evening’s special dinner.

Tickets are a donation of $100 per person, $150 per couple. They are available online now at http://sustainablelawrence.org

Terhune Orchards is located at 330 Cold Soil Rd., Princeton
